02 Feb Hydration
H2 OH REALLY!
We tend to think more of hydration during these warm summer months when we actually feel physically thirsty – our body’s way of reminding us to replenish after a day in the sun and heat.
Drinking 2 litres of water a day is recommended to keep ourselves at an optimal healthy level of hydration– but, boy sometimes it can be boring drinking sooooooo much water. If you can relate to this try changing things up a bit to keep you interested and motivated.
Here are a few subtle ‘taste sensations’ to add to your glass or keep a jug in the fridge:
- mint (with slices of orange)
- a mix of the fruits you love – pineapple, lemon, grapefruit
Maybe hot drinks are your preference. Try a mug with a chunk of fresh ginger (peeled and roughly chopped), a slice of lemon and a small teaspoon of honey, then keep topping it up with hot water all day. This is great for something refreshing while at your desk or around the house. Who knows it may mean you ‘crave’ one or two less coffees a day.
Our skin also needs to stay hydrated. It’s always ‘inside and out’ that helps maximize our health – our hydration mist with Aloe Vera and Marshmallow is the perfect natural ‘spritz’ to hydrate your skin. It’s perfect to use after time outdoors, for sunburn relief, after exercising, applying after makeup or anytime really! Simply close your eyes, hold it a few inches from your face and let the fine mist go to work. You can always store it in the fridge for an even more refreshing and cooling ‘spritz’.
Ps: Of course we would be remiss not to say that using natural Australian skin care such as Rustic Hyde is helping to make the most of the skin you have – rich in antioxidants and superfoods. All the goodies!
